Spunbond
fabrics are produced by depositing extruded filaments onto a belt, which we
usually call a collecting belt in an identical random way supported by bonding
the fibers. It is said that China
spunbond fabric machine is one of the essential resources to work in
many applications. The fibers in it are separated during the web laying process
by air jets or electrostatic charges.
After that,
the collecting surface is generally punctured to stop the air steam from
bouncing back and straightforwardly carrying the fibers. The bonding imparts
strength and integrity to the web by applying heated rolls and needles to melt
the polymers partially, and fibers are fused.
Since
molecular orientation enhances the melting point, fibers that are not extremely
formed can be accepted as thermal binding fibers. Moreover, polyethylene or
ethylene-propylene copolymers are used as low melting bonding sites. The
products of spunbond are employed in carpet backing, disposable medical
products, geotextiles, and whatnot. Since the fabric production is combined
with fiber production, the process is quite economical than staple fiber to
make nonwoven fabrics.
Polymers
Used by Spunbond Fabric Machine:
Polypropylene:
It’s one of
the most extensively used polymers for spunbond nonwovens composition. It
provides the highest yield and coverage power at the most economical cost
because of low frequency.
Polyester:
It’s used
in several commercial spunbond products and offers certain advantages over
polypropylene – but they’re costly. As compared to polypropylene, the scrap of
polyester is not readily recycled in manufacturing.
Nylon:
Spunbond
fabrics are made from both nylon-6 and nylon-6,6. Nylon is highly
energy-intensive and expensive compared to other polymers. Unlike olefins and
polyester fabrics, those made from nylon readily absorb water through hydrogen
bonding between the amide and water molecules.
Rayons:
Many types
of rayons have successfully been processed into usable spunbond webs using wet
spinning methods. Rayon has the best advantages, but one of them is at the top,
and that is: it offers good drape properties and softness to the web.
